The Data Science Analyst position will be responsible for Design, develop, modify, implement, test, support and maintain new and existing databases to help users retrieve data effectively. The Data Science Analyst position will be responsible for Design, develop, modify, implement, test, support and maintain new and existing databases to help users retrieve data effectively. Writing optimized SQL queries for integration with other applications. This position also works with a team responsible to research and implement advanced analytic models.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Design stable, reliable and effective databases.
- Analyze the needs of an organization and produce an effective database system according to their needs and specifications. This includes collecting data, analyzing the data, designing the dataflow using SSIS.
- Able to understand existing processes (Daily/weekly/Monthly) thoroughly and taking the ownership to modify, maintain them on a regular basis.
- Develop, understand and maintain SSIS packages.
- Addressing all the data needs from the Team and providing timely solutions.
- Develops data features that will serve as inputs to AI/Machine Learning/OR techniques
- Reviews visualizations for data accuracy and integrity to meet business standards
- Develop technical and training manuals. Write documentation about the processes and put together an operational manual.
- Writes code using SQL and R/Python/Scala to collect and manipulate data from multiple data sources is a bonus.
- Where permitted by applicable law, employees must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by their date of hire/placement to be considered for employment. Fully vaccinated means two weeks after receiving the second shot for Pfizer and Moderna, or two weeks after Johnson & Johnson.
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong understanding of the MS SQL Server environment and SSIS Packages.
- Ability to create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures, and triggers to support application development.
- Experience with aggregating large data sets, specifically within a data warehouse environment
- Microsoft SQL Server (2005-2019)
- SSMS/Visual Studio/SSDT (any versions)
- Redgate toolset (SQLPrompt, SQLSearch, SQL Source Control, etc.)
- Strong excel skills creating formulas, pivot tables, etc
- Strong analytical skills.
- Knowledge of predictive analytics development using Python or R in SQL Server is a bonus
- Owns the change request process and may coordinate with other teams as necessary.
- Identifies the business problem that requires research; identifies sources of information that are relevant to a problem; reviews literature and data related to the research question; summarizes information from data sources
- Demonstrates a basic understanding of a business problem; recommends a solution to solve the business problems
