The Employee Nurse Specialist is a Registered Nurse who serves in a dual capacity with part being HR and part being Employee Health. The HR function of the position may include, but not limited to, assisting with the employee wellness program and leave management as well as other special HR related projects. The Employee Health functions of the position include direct and indirect nursing care for URMC employees, contract employees, and non-employee groups, with particular emphasis in the area of Occupational Health. The Employee Nurse Specialist utilizes established protocols and standards of care to meet the wide variety of health care needs of the URMC employee population. The position is responsible for regulatory required reporting as deemed appropriate by the Quality Department and/or Infection Preventionist. This position will work closely with Benefits to partner with the chronic condition management group in facilitating employee participation. The position is responsible for interacting with the employee population in a positive, supportive, and confidential manner. Customer service in this role is paramount, as is accurate and timely documentation.
Requirements: (1) Associate's Degree or higher in Nursing, (2) GA RN license, (3) BLS, (4) at least one year relevant nursing experience, (5) basic computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. Prefer experience working in either an employee health clinic, infectious disease, or internal medicine clinic. Prefer certification as an Occupational Health Nurse. Experience with Meditech. Experience as an occupational health nurse and/or Human Resources experience.
