What We're Looking For
We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Emergency Liaison to join our dynamic team. The Emergency Liaison will play a crucial role in facilitating communication regarding patient care within our Emergency department.
Responsibilities Include:
- Presenting estimates to owners following doctor consultations and treatment plans
- Discussing estimate ranges, consents, and potential medical risks with clients
- Daily updating and implementation of hospital or outpatient charges
- Providing owners with updates on their pet’s condition and current invoice during hospitalization
- Facilitating departmental consultations and diagnostics as required
- Discharging hospitalized patients and assisting with visitations
- Coordinating communications between the front desk and ER
- Assisting with technical tasks or treatments when available
- Managing the emergency message center and ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly
- Preparing patients for discharge
- Assisting in preparing clients for euthanasia and ensuring all paperwork is complete
Experience Requirements:
- Two to four years of prior experience working as a Licensed Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant

- Competitive pay rates: Assistants ($18 to $24), LVTs ($25 to $34)

Schedule:
- Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, every other Saturday 5:45 pm to 6:15 am

- UVS offers a housing allowance benefit to full-time and part-time employees working consecutive shifts. Employees who live more than 60 miles from UVS will receive a daily or monthly allowance to obtain temporary housing while completing their scheduled shifts. This benefit is offered as part of the employment agreement upon hire.
