Overview |
Responsible to trouble shoot any issues such as fit, construction, and quality control. Takes full ownership of styles and sets a positive example for their team. Collaborates with the Technical Design Manager to support needs and expectations of the Tech area. Lead role in training personnel within their brand or category in all areas of Technical Design (TD). Promotes the development of team members through supervision and training.

Responsibilities |
TEAM DEVELOPMENT/MANAGEMENT · Leader in denim fit, construction and grading · Best practices for competitive costing · Experience working with denim factories execution, wash techniques · Collaborate with teams to share best practices or hi efficiency and approvals · Comprehensive Denim competitor fit and grade understanding of fit · Build relationships/partnerships with cross functional team members · Assist Technical Design Manager with on boarding of new technicians. TECHNICAL DESIGN MANAGEMENT · Identify efficiencies within their brand or category to support CTM initiative. · Manage work load to department initiatives. · Lead in daily operations to execute deadlines. · Run bi-annual block reviews and assure that all blocks within their category are kept current in fit and style that best serve the Designers’ concepts and be easily converted to styles by factories. · Lead in the development of seasonal trend fit and/or construction concepts desired by Design. · Attend all fittings that fall into their garment expertise. · Advise repair options to factories on fit or quality related issues. · Evaluate best/worst sellers and competitors to make improvements in technical methods and fit for upcoming seasons. · Other duties as specified by management.

Qualifications / Job Skills |
· Advanced ability to develop blocks and patterns using well established textbook pattern making methods and convert them into stylized blocks that suit the brand’s aesthetic and fit. · Strong knowledge base of garment construction, and manufacturing including factory machinery, procedures and methods within their category · Communicate effectively with internal and external parties. · Pro-active decision maker and problem solving. · Adapt quickly to changes. · Proficient in a PLM system. · Driven by deadlines with a high sense of urgency. · Ability to understand and fully incorporate the brand’s aesthetic.

Experience |
Minimum of 12 years experience in Technical design which can include up to 4 years of factory production experience and/or production pattern making.
