Overview


We are seeking a dynamic Brand Marketing Director, specialized in Creator Relations and Social Media, to join our Brand Marketing team at Urban Outfitters. This pivotal role will contribute to shaping the future of our brand, with a keen focus on fostering relationships across creators in fashion, design, entertainment, music, art, and beyond, alongside driving our social media initiatives. You will spearhead the development and implementation of social-first marketing strategies, aimed not only at expanding our business but also at cultivating deep and meaningful connections with our consumers. We are looking for an individual who is forward-thinking, possessing a social-first mindset, and capable of innovating with autonomy. They must be attuned to the ever-evolving trends in consumer behavior and possess profound insights into the cultural landscape that influences creative trends, aligning seamlessly with the UO brand ethos.

In addition to their comprehensive understanding of the creator landscape, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of crafting and executing creative marketing plans tailored for social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms. This role entails overseeing the consistent execution of social campaigns and tactics, driving community engagement, and collaborating closely with analytics, insights, merchandising, and strategy teams to continually optimize our social efforts.


Responsibilities


As a Brand Marketing Director, Creator Relations and Social Media, your responsibilities include:

  • Support the development and drive the execution of annual, seasonal, and monthly plans, across creators and social ensuring seamless implementation.
  • Manage collaboration and go-to-market processes with key cross-functional partners, fostering an end-to-end process with robust project management skills.
  • Obsess over product narratives, marketing launches, and seeding strategies to ensure a culturally relevant, transformative, consumer-centric approach in all marketing efforts.
  • Implement integrated marketing approaches with a focus on channel strategy, prioritizing UO’s ecosystem.
  • Embrace a multitasking and information-seeking attitude, passionately sharing knowledge across the business with an open, positive, and empathic approach.
  • Foster a collaborative, highly creative, and progressive approach that encourages the adoption of new frameworks, templates, and ways of working.
  • Drive and evolve a holistic social strategy, developing platform-specific approaches across UO's social ecosystem, including TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms.
  • Lead annual and seasonal planning, including content calendars, influencing the execution and evolution of content and platform strategies with a social-first mindset.
  • Oversee the consistent execution of social campaigns and tactics, delivering performance analysis to inform channel and creative optimization.
  • Lead and implement community engagement through proactive and reactive communications.
  • Manage and mentor a team, emphasizing holistic career development.
  • Partner closely with analytics, insights, merchandising, and strategy teams to continuously optimize.
  • Collaborate with community, creative, and marketing directors to develop campaigns and produce content that has the potential to break through in culture.

Qualifications


  • 7-10 years’ experience leading and executing across influencer management and/or social media and brand content strategies.
  • Experience in a consumer facing brand (including agency experience, retail, or related industry)
  • Proven experience growing and maintaining brands on social.
  • Finger on the pulse of culture – obsessed with media landscape and cultural zeitgeist.
  • Strong mix of creative and analytical thinking; equally grounded in insights, objectives, and KPIs while driving strong creative point of view and best practices.
  • Advanced marketing knowledge of major & emerging social and digital media channels, including their products, user behaviors, and commerce capabilities.
  • Can inspire & excite creatives to generate big and innovative ideas.
  • Excellent communication skills, persuasive and concise verbal, and written storytelling
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities at once.


Education


Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, analytics, or a related creative field
