Position Description.
The Piloting Associate will assist the Piloting Supervisor to ensure the safe and orderly management of all facilities and workplace operations. The Piloting Associate will ensure inventory is processed, organized, and stored properly as per company standards. The Pilot Associate will also be responsible for small scale chemical blending to produce polyurethane foam and other blends. The Piloting Associate will also package, scan, and prepare orders for shipment as needed. Other duties include but are not limited to ensuring the workspaces are clean, free of clutter and debris and work as an active team member to accomplish team goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports a safe work environment by following all safety procedures, workplace standards and company guidelines, and ergonomic rules including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) applying to a particular process or area, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMPs), Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements (OSHA).
  • Assists the Piloting Supervisor with activities related to Operations, Quality, Facilities, Safety or other activities.
  • Prepares orders by pulling materials, packing boxes, placing orders in shipping area.
  • Helps maintain inventory counts as needed for supplies
  • Assists with preventative maintenance or other appropriate maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Measure amounts of products or weights of filled containers to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Operate various pieces of process equipment to the specific job function such as blenders, pumps and compressors.
  • Complete physical batch paperwork and maintain accurate inventory.
  • Provides quality service to internal customers by following organization standards.
  • Preserves a safe and clean work environment by keeping workstations, and other work areas in and around the building, clean and orderly and participates in safety improvement projects.
  • Performs computer work with business operating systems, reads, and responds to electronic mail in a timely manner and uses other software as needed.
  • Laboratory small scale chemical and polyurethane foam support
  • Conduct, compile, and interpret polyurethane foam Physical Testing and Support.

Requirements

  • High school/ trade school diploma, GED or equivalent certificate or enrollment in High School / Trade School working towards a diploma, GED or equivalent certificate.
  • Work well on a team and able to work under some pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and organization is critical.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and unsupervised with good time management skills.
  • Good math skills for inventory control tasks
  • Good PC Skills, including use of e-mail, attaching documents to e-mails, data entry, etc. Knowledge of MS Excel a plus
  • Good writing penmanship for documentation.
  • Dependability. Be on time and show up for work everyday as scheduled.
  • Ability to drive a forklift is preferred but training is available as needed after 90 days.

Physical Demands and Abilities

  • Ability to lift to 40 lbs. or lift other heavy objects with another worker when team lifting.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit, walk, talk and hear, use hands to keyboard, handle and feel, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Able to work with some level of intermittent or continuous loud noises, not to exceed safety levels.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
