Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work in concert with IT peers and management to design, implement, manage, and maintain network infrastructure in the URM customer WAN and enterprise network.
- Configure, manage, and monitor network infrastructure in accordance with industry best practices.
- Participate in the evaluation, deployment, integration, and configuration of new networking solutions in the URM architecture.
- Assist in the day-to-day operations requests of various network changes such as switch port VLAN changes, office relocations, Moves, Adds, and Changes (MACs) of VoIP Hardware.
- Assist in troubleshooting and problem analysis in unplanned outages.
- Participate in URMs weekly change control meetings and coordinate network changes when necessary.
- May be required to occasionally work after hours/weekends for initiatives/projects.
- Serve in an on-call rotation with other IT peers.
Job Requirements:
- Intermediate-level technical experience in IP networking and route/switch concepts. Experienced in most facets of L1-L3.
- Understanding of common network protocols and their behavior.
- Understanding of route protocols (BGP, OSPF) required.
- Experience working with Cisco, Aruba, Meraki products is preferred.
- Experience in retail environments desired.
- Experience in packet capture and analysis is required.
- Experience in data center, MDF/IDF power and cabling design desired.
- Candidate must have effective troubleshooting, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Education/Experience:
- BS in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or demonstrable equivalent experience level
- 3-5 years prior experience and understanding of network/routing concepts
- 3-5 years prior project implementation experience
License or Certificate Desired:
One or more of the following: CCNA, CCDA ACSA, Network certification, or equivalent demonstrable experience.
