Job Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and skilled NICU nurses to join our team in Rochester, NY. As a NICU nurse, you will be responsible for providing care to critically ill or premature infants in the neonatal intensive care unit. You will be expected to assess, monitor, and provide treatments to our most vulnerable patients to ensure their health and wellbeing. This position requires flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and monitor neonates to detect changes in their health and administer medication, treatments or procedures as required.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, parents, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and improve patient outcomes.
- Educate parents on the care and treatment of their infants, including supporting and encouraging breastfeeding.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to infection-control policies and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay up to date with the latest clinical practices.
Requirements:
- Must be a registered nurse with a valid nursing license.
- Must have a minimum of one year experience as a NICU nurse.
- Must be comfortable in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate care to infants and their families.
