Our subscription and custom services enable you to access satellite imagery and analytic results with no geographic, political or weather-related limitations.
Ursa is looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our growing team! There is a lot of cross-pollination here at Ursa Space. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse team of highly-skilled engineers, working on a variety of projects. There are no egos here - we are looking for the best ideas and are eager to hear your input!
In this position you would be responsible for applying DevOps best practices across the company to streamline how our teams develop, deploy, and operate applications. You will work closely with software engineers to improve the developer experience, automate away toil, and build observability into our systems.
The DevOps Engineer position is fully remote. This position is exempt and not eligible for overtime pay and will report to the Systems Engineer.
Roles and Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have experience with a variety of operating systems in cloud and server environments, with a focus on Amazon Web Services.
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to)
- Manage resources in Amazon Web Services and Google Workspace
- Coordinate with Ursa customers and vendors to facilitate exchange of data
- Work with Ursa security consultants to maintain and improve Ursa’s IT security posture
- Deploy and maintain infrastructure as code
- Establish and maintain access control systems
- Provide automated build support using Git
- Automate repetitive tasks where possible
- Learn new technologies
- Participate in design discussions and code reviews
- Communicate effectively and collaborate frequently with peers
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
You should be familiar with some of these; however, you are not expected to be an expert in all:
- Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, Amazon Linux)
- Amazon Web Services
- Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK, Helm)
- Kubernetes, Docker, at-scale deployments
- CI/CD pipelines
- Google Workspace / Microsoft 365
- Documentation platforms (Confluence or other wiki tools)
- Ticketing systems (Jira, ConnectWise, ZenDesk, etc)
- Networking/Systems Administration
- Scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell)
