Plans and administers day-to-day operation of the Community Center and the Firehouse Airman's Program. Identifies individuals with special interests and develops/conducts programs for special interest groups to include but not limited to families, single parents. singles, retirees, and private organizations on an on-going basis and during deployments, exercises, and other special base activities. Conducts needs and interest assessments to determine programming and activities. Supervises staff of Community Center. Types of duties include but are not limited to the following: Plans and coordinates the details of recurring and non-recurring group activities such as classes, clubs, special events, outreach, competitive games, and events, self-directed leisure. and joint community undertakings so as to make maximum use or resources. Recommends new programming activities. to include type of format and resources the activity would require. Gathers information from a number of different sources. including past progran1s and current popular programs from other communities. Coordinates activities with on-base and off-base resources, which are consistent with military and morale mission. Determines supply and equipment requirements and assists in the financial planning for various programs. Solicits and selects volunteers for activities which could be scheduled without such assistance. Provides training to volunteers and guidance and leadership to various center activities and participants. During deployment. exercises, and other special conditions, leads leisure activities and assists with services. Sets up rooms to support meeting group needs. Develops periodic program plans and annual activity budget requirements; accounts for all funds and transactions, maintains financial audit trail; develops, submits, revises quarterly and evaluates NAF/APF budgets. Maintains property records, and control security of property and supply items. Reports facility repairs and maintenance requirements according to procedures. Assists in maintaining facility to meet operational standards. Provides courteous and timely responses and acceptable solutions or alternatives to customer needs. Develops and implements an adequate marketing plan, to include annual program plans and a 90-day calendar. Attends Commander Calls, 1st Sergeant Meetings, and Chiefs meeting to assess the needs of base personnel, to secure programs, activities, and services to meet those needs. Consolidates and finalizes information for letters and reports, IA W prescribed formats, established procedures, and/or specific instructions from the supervisor. Maintains filing and records maintenance system. Submits recommended solutions to resolve possible problems in such areas as supervision,safety, supplies/equipment, and facility. Keeps abreast of current trends to bring those ideas to enhance current programs. Assigns work to subordinates; plans and sets work schedules and provides guidance/direction. Provides feedback on employee performance and holds employees responsible for satisfactory completion of work assignments. Initiates personnel actions, interviews candidates and makes recommendations for selection, promotion, etc. Maintains time and attendance records and approves leave. Identifies and recommend training for employees. Conducts OJT for employees as appropriate.
