Duties
Serves as the Assistant to the Aquatics Program Manager responsible for the daily operations and supervision of the Aquatics Department. Works under the direction of the Aquatics Program Manager in supervising pool facilities.
Supervises aquatic personnel's work, professionalism, conduct and ensures deadlines are met. Develops after-action reports of programs when required. Assists with ensuring completion of safety incident reports.
Assists with execution of the Installation Aquatic Risk Management Plan. Assists with the development and update of the Standard Operating Procedures for the aquatic facilities, programs and enforces policies.
Assists with the arrangement of equipment, supplies and services needed to accomplish assigned functions. Makes recommendations to purchase needed materials, equipment and supplies.
Assists with new employee required orientation, training/on-the-job training in order to meet all department needs. Assists Aquatics Program Manager with publicizing aquatic events. Performs other duties as assigned.
Assists with data collection for standard reports and adherence to the policies and OSHA requirements. Performs other duties as assigned.

Successful completion of a pre-employment physical is required for this position.
In addition, the incumbent will be subject to CNACI background checks due to the requirement to have regular and recurring contact with children.
Must be able to work during the hours of operation to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Aquatic Facilities Operator (AFO) or Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certification must be obtained within 6 months of appointment.
For facilities that use Oxygen Administration "O2 bottles", the O2 Administration certification (Red Cross or installation offered training.
Qualifications
Qualification Requirements are:
Possesses demonstrated experience in planning and executing aquatic or recreational programs/ events.
Possess demonstrated experience in leading or supervising aquatics or recreation staff.
This experience may have been gained in an indoor or outdoor environment working with recreational programs, events, and/ or facilities.
AND
Possession of the following certificates:
American Red Cross Lifeguarding and First Aid
Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for the Professional Rescuer/ AED
(Certificates issued by American Red Cross, Ellis @ Associates, Star Guard or other nationally recognized agencies are acceptable).
Highly Qualified candidates will have the following:
Must possess experience with payroll.
Must possess experience with scheduling staff of 20 or more employees.
Other desirable qualities include:
Lifeguard Instructor (Red Cross)
Water Safety Instructor (Red Cross)
Lifeguard Instructor Trainer (Red Cross)

Education
An undergraduate or graduate degree in related fields such as Physical Education, Kinesiology, Sports Administration/ Management, or Recreation may be substituted for six (6) months' work experience

PCS Costs
Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials
This is a pay-banded position.
Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
