Duties
Works alone or in a group performing a variety of tasks involving the maintenance and repair of recreational grounds, buildings and structures, and appurtenant fixtures.
Duties require the use of trade practices associated with carpentry and painting as well as work involving motor vehicle operations, electrical and plumbing.
Assignments include the performance of work with a high level of difficulty and responsibility.
May be required to drive vehicles up to and including a 5-ton truck to move furniture, etc., to various buildings on the installation.
Perform heavy physical labor requiring the frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing 80 to 100 pounds or more.

Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
A one year probationary period may be required.
Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3. Incumbent is required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation.
A health assessment is required.
Possession of a valid driver's license to operate assigned government vehicles. The employee must maintain a current driver's license while in this job.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to communicate in English at a level to assure the duties described can be accomplished in a safe and satisfactory manner.
Demonstrated skills in successfully operating standard tools.
Experience in accomplishing the types of duties described in this job.

Allowances, Incentives, and PCS Costs:
Allowances, differentials, or incentives will not be paid.
Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
FWS Allowances and Differentials
This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800.
