This position is assigned to Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, FL.
This position is not eligible for telecommuting.
Essential Functions
- Configure complex suite of legacy and modernized telemetry equipment (data processing, display, recording, distribution) used for Eastern Range launch operations
- Develop and maintain scripts for automating operational routines performed by COTS and custom software
- Operate telemetry equipment during real-time launch operations, and post operation data processing and analysis
- Develop and maintain checklists and procedures necessary to ensure nominal and consistent system performance during operations
- Oversee and direct systematic troubleshooting of system problems, corrective action, and operational re-verification
- Analyze, log, track and resolve complex anomalies (i.e., software, hardware, network) pertaining to system performance; recommend and implement approved courses of action
- Continually monitor system performance and reliability, and recommend solutions for overcoming system deficiencies
- Obtain qualification and maintain proficiency on assigned training packages
- Assist others perusing qualifications and proficiencies on assigned training packages
- Provide technical support to engineering projects that modify the Launch Test Range System (LTRS) operational baseline
- Assist Cyber Security personnel with Information Assurance Assessments as required
- Perform other duties as assigned

Required Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math), or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two or more years of experience working in a complex software/network-based systems environment
- Knowledgeable of software development and data transport protocols
- Proficient in the use of MS Office tool suite
- Two or more years of experience on the Eastern Range, preferred
- Telemetry systems experience, preferred
- Experience working with Windows OS, Windows Server, Linux- REDHAT, Linux SENT-OS, and C# based computer systems and components, preferred
- Knowledge of IT assets employed on the Eastern Range, as well as the AF and DoD requirements for logical access, preferred
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Some local travel may be required to meet critical operational schedules
- DoD 8570 Certification (Security CE, or CISSP, or CASP), or ability to achieve certification within six months of employment
- The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends/holidays to support specific project or mission requirements
- Must be fully vaccinated from the COVID-19 virus, which means two weeks have passed since a single-shot vaccine or the second dose of a two-shot vaccine. Requests for medical or religious accommodations will be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship or U.S. naturalization
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License
