As Fleet Manager you will be responsible for creating and overseeing fleet safety, processes, budgeting, inventory, and repairs. You will be responsible for ensuring all trucks and equipment are adequately repaired and maintained to ensure they can be operated safely and efficiently. You will also track all equipment data and inventory to identify company needs as they arise.
Essential Functions:
- Monitor and Process Vehicle Permits and Inspections.
- Driver Recruitment.
- Communications with Drivers and other departments.
- Driver Management.
- Dispatch Management.
- Maintenance Management.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
- Grade existing inventory based on condition.
- Forecast truck and equipment needs for the next three years.
Repair:
- Schedule and manage contractors that perform repairs with the Maintenance Department.
Preventative Maintenance:
- Ensure vehicles and equipment are regularly inspected and maintained to ensure safe operation.
- Enforces safe work behavior and maintains a safe worksite.
- Development of vehicle and equipment maintenance preventative maintenance program.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; crouch; stoop or kneel; reach with hands and arms; talk, and hear.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather (heat or cold), and moving mechanical equipment.
Qualification Requirements:
- 2-5 years of transportation or fleet management experience.
- Intermediate-level computer skills (including Word, Outlook, and Excel).
- Knowledge of methods, techniques, and procedures involved in mechanical maintenance repairs and replacement.
- Knowledge of engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems for commercial trucks.
- Ability to coordinate programs, prepare reports, and maintain accurate records.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.
