US Farathane is seeking an experienced Materials Manager at our Troy, MI facility. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining an effective supply chain system to achieve optimum levels of productivity, customer satisfaction, and inventory.
US Farathane has been a leading source of plastics manufacturing, supplying the automotive industry for over 40 years. Through highly technical research and development, coupled with a diverse and knowledgeable Management Team and dedicated Associates, US Farathane has continued to grow each year. We provide customers with a wide range of full-service support from black box design concepts to highly engineered composites, TPE’s and TPO’s as well as specialized extrusion and compression technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify, track, and maintain optimum inventory levels and turns. Manage and perform physical inventory activities and reports.
- Maintain customer requirements for electronic communication (DDL, SMARTS, etc.), NAFTA reporting, and other customer specified databases.
- Understand expediting methods: premium freight - air controls on cross docks
- Experience in dealing with OEM’s
- Oversee the activities of Customer Service, Production Scheduling, Buyer/Planner and Shipping & Receiving.
- Oversee integration of required advanced planning activities (APQP) including coordination of prototype, sample, and pre-production runs.
- Provide direction and leadership consistent with plant and corporate business plan goals.
- Responsible for meeting customer expectations for delivery performance including shipping, packaging integrity, labeling standards, returnable containers, and scanning.
- Determine the plant requirements for raw materials, components, packaging and meet Customer Demands along with maintaining agreed inventory levels.
- Monthly Operational Report
- Maintain customer requirements to Materials Management Systems (MMOG, SAP, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; and five years related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in dealing with OEM's
