ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Verify incoming raw material check, including trailer inspection (cleanliness, temperature, overall conditions), box inspection (intact, undamaged), product appearance & temperature, adherence to product purchasing specifications and weight
- Oversee verification of outgoing finished product inspection.
- Examine product returns and determine product disposition based on limits of the return policy.
- Obtain environmental samples for Listeria and before/after swabs of antimicrobial spray.
- Collect samples for USDA Testing.
- Align COA’s and PO’s, with incoming raw material cases for grind.
- Print retail labels for RTE Packaging, scan for potential labeling issues
Create nutritional information using Genesis R&D software. - Complete spec sheets for new item numbers, gather information from operations team while acting as the primary liaison between Spokane facility and the PIM team; facilitate and operate PIM eEnable.
- Complete and submit regular reports for statistical or operational analysis.
- Perform 3rd party audit preparation and supplier audits as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Formal training/certification in Animal Science/Food Safety preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of Food Safety and Quality experience.
- Preferred 5 years of experience in a food service processing & distribution environment.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize required, critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal skill required, including the ability to relate to and positively influence associates and third parties at all organizational levels.
