Duties

  • Supports Radio Spectrum Section (RSS) within OCIO's Telecommunications Branch.
  • Performs project Initiation (Conceptual) Phase analysis
  • Works with vendors to support the operations and management planning startup.
  • Monitors projects' performances.
  • Performs project risk management analysis.
  • Develops communication plan, distributes project information, and generates performance reports in collaboration with other team members.

Qualifications

At the GS-13 level, you must meet the following qualification:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience for this position include serving as a project manager for the development or implementation of projects; planning, organizing, and executing a complex or high-risk project; managing an assigned project throughout the full life cycle; serving as a key advisor and expert in the initial phases of project development, which requires conducting feasibility studies to enhance or modify programs DOI-wide; providing market research to identify the latest trends and advancements in telecommunications; and evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements that demonstrated knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology.

Employee must possess or be able to acquire a Certified Association of Project Management (CAPM) or equivalent by PMI within the first 60 days.
