Summary Description:

The Sr. Director, Head of Digital is responsible for leading the transformation of GMAC’s digital ecosystem into an online media business, positioning it for a new phase of growth.  This role has access to a wide network of business leaders from the business schools and companies that partner with GMAC and works closely with different internal department / teams to ensure consistency through all digital marketing channels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design the transformation path to evolve current digital assets, mainly product specific, into an integrated media platform (email, web, social, data) that supports the strategic growth plans across GMAC 
  • Facilitate the integration of all products and services across GMAC, while representing the end to end GME candidate experience globally.
  • Set up the vision and requirements to create meaningful candidate experiences that can be leveraged across GMAC and that encompasses multiple touch points and channels.
  • Develop a compelling business plan in support of GMAC’s long-range digital vision and its transformation to a revenue growth center for the organization.
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for digital and mobile strategies and overall digital product strategy, in support of key priorities identified to enhance customer sales and ongoing experience across GMAC’s digital ecosystem.
  • Support all aspects of a new media service business, including:
    • Collaborate with IT on digital online media product development to come up with robust solutions which drives highest value to customers; and
    • Deliver consistently high-quality news content, including sponsored editorial that delights GMAC’s customers and non-sponsored content that drives relevant traffic and a loyal readership across mba.com.
  • Understand the needs of other departments across the organization and build those into the digital strategy, including ability to drive conversion through MBA.com for GMAC’s product offerings
  • Coordinate with IT and vendors extensively to execute continuous evolution of the digital experience, including the identification and introduction of new digital marketing methods and tools for both GMAC and its customers.
  • Contribute to the identification and support the activation of new business opportunities/ partnerships in the digital landscape, including the integration of other sites acquired through merger and acquisition activity.
  • Hire, manage, coach and develop a high-performance team.
  • Other responsibilities and duties, as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Computer Science or another relevant field.
  • 10+ years of experience in the digital space, with a focus on digital media product development and alternative models for monetization, preferably at a premium publisher or ad tech company.   In addition, experience in SEO, managing content distribution across digital channels, and development of high quality, customer centric digital experiences.
  • 5+ years of experience leading and motivating digital platform teams, including partnering across areas without direct supervisory lines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of web/application development lifecycles and methodologies, including AGILE as well as the technical aspects of the web and its capabilities.
  • Must be analytically inclined and have a passion for demonstrating value and ROI through quantifying performance vs. investment.  Familiar with different digital measurement techniques (e.g. Google Analytics) and how to interpret data and transform into business impact.
  • Develops and sustains relationships based on an understanding of customer/stakeholder needs. Participates in customer calls, when needed, to help bolster the sales pipeline.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to create presentations to C-level and top strategic customers.
  • Supports employees and business partners with diverse styles, abilities, motivations, and/or cultural perspectives; utilizes differences to drive innovation, engagement and enhance business results; and ensures employees are given the opportunity to contribute to their full potential.
  • Initiates and/or manages the change process and energizes it on an ongoing basis, taking steps to remove barriers or accelerate its pace; serves as role model for how to handle change by maintaining composure and performance level under pressure or when experiencing challenges.
  • Demonstrated experience of having full P&L responsibility for a business, including delivery against revenue targets and managing operating budgets.
  • Ability to travel globally, when required (approx. up to 10% of the time to regional offices).
