Arxada is looking for a successful Instrumentation & Controls Engineer who is capable of providing the necessary electrical engineering support to accomplish the facility’s objectives in the safest, economical, and technically feasible manner. Key Responsibilities: Serve as the plant’s technical expert on electrical components and power distribution systems. Serve as project engineer responsible for scope, schedule, and cost on small to medium sized electrical projects. Assist in design of high and low voltage electrical systems. Assist Operations and Maintenance Departments in developing procedures, training, and processes to ensure equipment is operated within its design parameters. Assist team in Project Execution stage in completion of detailed design, construction and installation of facilities and equipment. Responsible for contractor selection and oversight of field execution for projects assigned. Ensure plant compliance with Process Safety Management. Monitor critical equipment analysis to identify reliability improvement opportunities. Monitor electrical power distribution system. Maintain baseline appraisals of electrical capacity identifying load flows, problem areas and areas of excess capacity. Support electrical systems modernization projects and capital projects through involvement in electrical system specifications, hardware and software design, testing, commissioning, training, and documentation. Train on new technologies and methods for maintaining equipment to increase reliability. Participate in technical reviews to ensure detailed electrical engineering meets design specifications, codes and engineering standards. Troubleshoot and resolve electrical-related issues. In conjunction with other engineers and Maintenance, assists in design and implementation of reliability-centered maintenance programs for critical electrical equipment. Key Requirements: B.S. In Electrical Engineering from accredited institution required 6 years’ Electrical Engineering experience in refining, chemicals, or similar industry Possess working knowledge of NEC, NEMA, NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, arc flash hazard analysis and applicable IEEE standards. Have experience in risk-based assessment, fit for duty and end of life assessments. Root Cause Analysis training. Background in performing root cause failure analyses, developing corrective action plans, and tracking all rotating equipment KPI (Key Performance Indicator).
