Job Description: Stranding machines take bobbins of wire (aluminum and/or copper) from the wire drawing machines and twist together to make the size/type strand required per customer order. Brief Summary of Primary Duties: Regular and predictable attendance throughout the shift is an essential function of this position Ability to utilize SOP’s,CDA’s TI’s, as resource documentation Produce quality cable with minimal to zero scrap Maintain high efficiency on machine and high machine uptime Ability to change machine from one product to another effectively and efficiently Ability to string up entire machine and select correct dies Expectations: Abide by all rules and procedures Maintain clean work area Make safety first priority Report all safety incidents or issues immediately Sustain a shop floor enviroment with operators helping each other Any / All tasks that are assigned by a supervisor Specific Skills/Training Required: On shop floor Maximo training On job Kold-welder training On job basic computer training skills-included but not limited to SAP and MDC On job training reading measurement equipment –including but not limited to OD tapes, electronic measuring instruments, caliber, micrometers, and scales Education: High School/GED Diploma – required Experience: Previous manufacturing Experience preferred but not required Safety Requirements/Physical Requirements: Safety shoes and glasses required when working in the production areas Hearing Protection required in posted areas. Visual Requirements –ability to read markings on cable and strand Ability to stand 8-12 hours Ability to bend/stoop to floor level 30-60 times per shift Ability to push/roll bobbins weighing 115-1000 lbs. 10-100 times per shift Ability to push/roll reel weighing 500-15,000 lbs. using reel mover 2-10 times a shift Ability to push dolly with drum weighing 500lbs. 2-3 times a shift Ability to lift 50 lbs. *Prysmian will grant reasonable accommodations for any disability.
