Reimagine What’s Possible Pipe Stress Engineer Roles and Responsibilities: We are seeking a Pipe Stress Engineer within our LNG team located at our Allentown, PA HQ work location. This position requires 30 % domestic / global travel. The LNG Mechanical Design Engineering and Technology team are part of the GEMTE LNG Product line team. Other teams in the LNG Product line team are Project Engineering, Process Engineering, Technology, Product Development, and Commercial teams. The LNG Mechanical Design Engineering and Technology team is responsible for the Mechanical and Structural engineering and design for LNG equipment. This includes Coil Wound Heat Exchangers, Pressure Vessels, Piping, and Structures. We provide support and liaison to the manufacturing facility and EPC/Customer/ liaison for LNG Heat Exchanger Projects Worldwide. The position of Pipe Stress Engineer shall be responsible for piping stress analyses on projects executed within LNG Mechanical Design Engineering and Technology team. The primary purpose is to provide a safe, fit-for-purpose piping stress design to an agreed schedule and specifications. The incumbent will have 4-10 experience in piping stress analysis. Candidates with less than 4 years of experience in pipe stress analysis will be considered. Education and Licensing Requirements: BS in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline accredited by ABET with 4 to10 years of related experience. Experience of conducting stress analysis of piping systems in accordance with ASME B31.3 Process Piping code and other standards. Experience of pipe support design and selection including spring hangers. Prior experience using piping stress analysis software such as Bentley Auto Pipe and/or Caesar II. Working knowledge and understanding of ASCE 7 Standards (Minimum Design Loads and Associated Criteria for Building and Other Structures) and International Building Code (IBC) Working knowledge and understanding of ASME BPVC, ASME B31.3, and other international piping codes. Ability to read and interpret Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) Valid Driver’s License required. Good driving record PREFERENCES: Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools such as Nozzle Pro, FE Pipe, and /or ANSYS. Ability to navigate a 3D CAD model such as Hexagon Smart Plant 3D and Review. Working knowledge of dynamic analysis. Practical field experience will be advantageous. Microsoft Office Suite.
