46666 Payroll Analyst (Open) Location: Kennesaw, GA (LLC Support) - Management How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? Payroll Analyst We have a unique opportunity for a Payroll Analyst who is looking to grow! Airgas is in the midst of a Payroll Simplification effort, including the deployment of Workday. Working closely with the Payroll Manager, you will help to redefine how Payroll functions and how it supports the business. The Payroll Analyst partners daily with Airgas Payroll and Accounting teams to ensure payroll and general ledger compliance. This role is responsible for providing expertise regarding our payroll tax compliance, as well as helping to address questions around the payroll reconciliations and reporting. You will conduct periodic tax reviews and partner with various tax agencies to ensure that all payroll tax issues are resolved. The Payroll Analyst will also provide support to the Accounting team and other teams through Payroll reporting and assistance with inquiries. The successful candidate will help to assess our current processes and apply best practices to make them even better. Currently, our payroll withholding taxes are managed through ADP EV5 and ADP SmartCompliance. In mid-2022, we will convert to Workday for both time tracking and payroll processing. We will continue our strong partnership with ADP from a tax filing perspective. What will I be doing? - Serve as the payroll subject matter expert for general ledger and payroll tax compliance. - Responsible for ensuring that all payroll general ledgers are posted timely and with appropriate expense allocations in compliance with Airgas Accounting procedures - Work in conjunction with the Airgas Payroll teams to ensure that all payroll withholding taxes are submitted timely and in accordance with regulatory requirements. - Responsible for resolving any state or federal tax notices related to payroll reporting and tax filing compliance. - Responsible for periodic review of employee tax records to ensure compliance with state and federal tax withholding requirements - Assist in the oversight, review and approval of regular payroll analyst processing activities - Manage the monthly operational calendar and processes for Payroll including holding others accountable for required deliverables - Review and audit of payroll reports for accuracy, validity, and reasonableness - Reconcile payroll tax reporting after each pay run to ensure accurate filings by tax service provider. - Monitor quarterly/annual tax filings. - Reconcile cash activity to Payroll and ADP Tax Services reports. - Reconcile Payroll reports to 941s and W-2s. - Research and reconciliation of payroll taxes from prior periods. - Collaborates with Accounting to resolve payroll general ledger account variances - Monitoring timely review and completion of payroll cases based upon assignment - Proactively anticipate customer needs and build trusting relationships through collaboration and knowledge sharing - Document and create workflows of payroll processes - Testing, validation & implementation of enhancement & improvement - Partner with payroll specialist to track and justify payroll payments and adjustments Leadership Skills - Strong analytical and problem solving skills - Ability to think critically and who will question the status quo - Proactively seek and provide creative approaches to problem solving and process improvement. - Strong ability to collaborate with other team members to resolve payroll variances, provide reporting support and deliver quality results to employees and external customers. - Superior written and verbal communication skills; including the ability to effectively communicate technical payroll and tax terms and explanations to internal customers - Proven excellent attention to detail and a high level of confidentiality - Proven ability to work within tight deadlines as well as successfully prioritize multiple tasks and customers in a fast paced human resources environmentEducation/Experience - 3 years of processing full cycle multi-state in-house payroll in a mid-size payroll department - 3 years of experience with payroll tax filings and compliance issues. - Associates degree or equivalent work experience Functional Skills - Understanding of pay calculations, payroll processes, pay standards and wage and hour laws - Knowledge of ADP Enterprise desired; similar HRIS platforms may be acceptable - CPP Certification preferred ________________________ Are you a MATCH? _________________________ Your differences enhance our performance At Airgas, we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace that embraces the diversity of our employees, our customers, patients, community stakeholders and cultures across the world.
