The Director, Global Strategic Sourcing (DGSS) is the leader of the team that is responsible for directing the strategic sourcing of packaging, MRO, capital, and resin materials for Clorox. This position will mentor and guide a team of 30-40 individuals that builds disruptive value via delivery of the 7S’s of Sourcing, including supply assurance, cost savings, supplier diversity, supplier innovation, supplier relationship management, sustainability, and category strategies. Additionally, the role will own the responsible sourcing team which serves to integrate sustainability efforts into Sourcing and owning the creation and implementation of comprehensive responsible sourcing strategies. The DGSS leads international resources in the various spend categories globally, with direct management support for the LATAM rigid and flexible packaging team. Also, the DGSS will work closely with the rest of the GSS Leadership Team to implement GSS sourcing policies and best practices, and partner with Clorox operations to deliver ongoing value. The primary location for the position will be Alpharetta GA. We are open to basing the role in other major Clorox hub locations - Durham NC, Pleasanton/Oakland CA, or Bentonville AR. We are open to considering candidates from Clorox's international operations. The role will travel 10-20% In this role, you will: In this role, you will: Drive strategic sourcing activities across material categories including resin, packaging, capital, MRO ($1.8Bn, ~35% of total Clorox spend) Supports responsible sourcing team and supports comprehensive strategies to deliver corporate sustainability commitments including Scope-3 GHG reductions with our suppliers Define and implement best practices across supported categories and teams Work seamlessly with operations and nurture key supplier relationships Deliver value creation, cost reduction, and margin transformation targets for supported spend areas and across the enterprise Assist VP with setting Clorox wide sourcing strategy and ensuring procurement activities are aligned People Management & Span of Control: This role will have a total of 6 Direct Reports. Total organization size is between 30-40 people. As organization evolves, the organization size could change. Revenue Responsibility: Overall spend responsibility for approximately $1.8Bn of direct and indirect materials and services. What we look for: What we look for: Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (or equivalent experience) 10 years of supply chain experience in a global, matrixed environment 8 years of people management experience 3 years of Sourcing knowledge and experience Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position Preferred Qualifications: 12 years of supply chain experience in a global, matrixed environment 10 years of people management experience 5 years of Sourcing knowledge and experience Outstanding coaching/mentoring skills Understanding and experience with complex sourcing tools and methodologies including commodity hedging (Resin and/or Oil) Demonstrated experience driving positive results through large teams (30-40 people) in a challenging and fast-paced environment Ability to synthesize data and ascertain key insights to drive differential value Capability to develop and implement key strategic initiatives Excellent written and verbal communication skills Able to build and develop positive relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders We seek out and celebrate diverse backgrounds and experiences, and we know you don’t need a degree to succeed.
