Your role at Clorox: The Chief Audit Executive is the strategic and trusted risk advisor charged with developing and implementing the Company’s global internal audit strategy aimed at advising management in the identification and mitigation of a wide range of business, financial, technology, compliance, and operational risks while strengthening The Clorox Company’s internal controls. As the leader of internal audit, the Chief Audit Executive provides the necessary content expertise to promote and instill a culture of risk management and compliance which embraces industry best practices. The role is responsible for driving a risk-based internal audit plan, consisting of both assurance and risk advisory engagements, that serve to add value to the organization and in alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. In this role, you will: Collaborate with business leaders and other risk/compliance functions to continuously identify and assess the organization’s strategic, operational, financial and compliance risk areas and provide internal audit services to advise and support management in the effective management of those risks. Set the strategy for Internal Audit in alignment with the overall enterprise priorities and business objectives and lead execution of the Audit plan as approved by the Audit Committee. Communicate with the Audit Committee to ensure concerns are addressed and expectations are met; approves and oversees the reports to the Audit Committee and senior management which address key business risks and control issues. Serve as a trusted business adviser to senior management and provide counsel on risks related to emerging risk trends, new business developments, new system implementations and other strategic initiatives to ensure internal controls are considered and designed into the process, thus increasing the likelihood of success. Partner with other risk functions to better integrate our risk management activities across the enterprise to create a more efficient and effective risk management organization and to enhance the company’s three lines of defensive model through stronger integration with Internal Audit. Improve internal auditing capabilities by incorporating best practices, including use of data analytics tools, audit methodologies/techniques, policies and procedures to effectively and efficiently conduct quality audits and assess trends, deficiencies, and areas of potential risk. Progressively recruit and develop a high-performing professional audit team with the knowledge, skills, experience and professional certifications necessary to audit effectively, and with emphasis on leadership development. Proactively develop effective relationships with key stakeholders in the Business Units, Corporate Controller, Chief Information Officer, Functional Leaders, and External Auditors. Understand, anticipate and balance the competing objectives of your stakeholders. Serve as a change agent supporting ongoing organizational learning as relates to risk/controls and helping to influence behaviors that support achievement of the company’s strategic objectives. What we look for: 15 years of experience in accounting which includes auditing in a Fortune 500 company or a top tier professional services firm. Desirable: Consumer Packaging Goods experience Skills and Abilities Minimum: A strategic and critical thinker with the ability to build strong partnerships with colleagues in diverse functions and business units across a highly complex, global organization. The ability to balance strong internal control requirements with current / future business requirements. A proven leader with a reputation for leading and motivating high performing teams. The ability to drive results and maintain morale in his/her organization. The ability to recruit and develop high potential people and set high standards for finance personnel across the organization. A highly motivated executive with the intellectual capability and perseverance to drive positive change and continuously push to identify and implement “best practices.” An executive with good listening skills and business partnering skills who is able to quickly build consensus and alignment with key internal and external stakeholders. An articulate and persuasive individual who can present a factbased compelling business case and translate audit and broader finance issues into actionable plans.
