You will manage a portfolio of integrated tax planning projects throughout the America’s region focused on delivering strategic value. Functions within both tax (M&A, transfer pricing, indirect tax, international and local jurisdictions, and payroll), outside tax (accounting, finance, treasury, trade, gov’t affairs, business development, segment operations, footprint optimization, R&D and technical development, investor relations, and strategy), and outside advisors from both leading law and accounting firms. This role will provide you with wide ranging experience from which successful careers develop in our corporate tax and related functions. Your Role In your daily responsibility, you will have the opportunity to… Work in a cross-functional environment with other key operational stakeholders; including, legal, finance, treasury, IT, strategy, supply chain, and business development Demonstrate your (a) technical expertise (preferably in mergers and acquisitions, international tax, and / or transfer pricing); (b) experience in helping to identify operational and reporting challenges which arise when implementing global transfer pricing and tax structures; and (c) project management skills in cross-functional environments. Work closely with other tax, finance and operational team members. Succeed by measuring in terms of (a) meeting agreed and documented development and implementation goals; (b) the financial success of projects with which they are involved; and (c) stakeholder satisfaction (focused on responsiveness, completeness and execution support). To participate in the organization’s relevancy in today’s business and financial environment as countries continue to accelerate their efforts to raise revenue enabled by new regulatory, tax and reporting requirements. Further, to partner with Aptiv, placing a strategic importance to its merger and acquisition activity, especially given the pace of the evolution of the mobility industry Your Background Key ingredients for succeeding in this role are your: Minimum 5 years of relevant tax experience with large, multi-divisional groups while working for Big 4 accounting firms, law firms, or for multinational companies Ability to explain and demonstrate the application of laws and regulations with a practical and solution orientated mindset and to develop initial positions and solutions to problems on their own and aptitude to pursue them accordingly Holder of a valid U.S. Passport with willingness to travel regionally and internationally (20% or less) Prior experience with Mergers and acquisitions (including tax due diligence, structuring, valuation, negotiation, and post-acquisition integration), acting both for buy and sell-side teams International tax Transfer pricing concepts US GAAP, and Detailed financial and cash tax modeling in excel. Preference for the following Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to interact well with people of various backgrounds and levels Ability to work independently at times as well as closely and successfully with professionals of different backgrounds and cultures Strong time management and organization skills to manage a number of different projects at any one time Strong proficiency in English, other European and Asian language skills a plus (we are a multinational, multilingual company, however English is the common language in our finance and tax group) A positive, energetic, fun and happy attitude with a strong creativity streak.
