Summary/Objective:
The Safety Manager/Coordinator will advise Branch Managers on matters related to the Safety culture within their respective branches and client business areas. The Safety Manager/Coordinator will effectively communicate to employees Assist Branch leadership in the development of safety plans and programs as requested by the customer. The Safety Manager/ Coordinator assists in the examination and analysis of all incidents to determine the cause and assist with the development of recommendations to prevent recurrence.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in monitoring safety and health compliance related to construction and maintenance of the project.
- Provide new employees with orientation to company practices, procedures, and technical tools, as well as practical application through on the job training.
- Conducts project safety audits and recommends correction for unsafe acts and/or tasks.
- Explains safety policies and procedures.
- Assists in conducting accident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Trained to administer first aid to employees with minor injuries.
- Assist in case management of employee injured on job.
- Advises and supports local management in activities to foster a positive HSE culture.
- Must be willing and able to travel as required occasionally.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years Industrial safety field experience.
- 30-hour OSHA (preferred)
- Ability to maintain positive business relationships with internal and external customers.
- Work at heights of 100’ plus and be able to climb ladders and stairways and work from platforms.
- Clear MVR preferred.
- Certified in Basic First-aid, CPR and AED use trained (preferred)
- Have reliable transportation.
- Must be knowledgeable in basic paperwork skills and proficient in Microsoft Office Programs
- 90% field work, 10% office work
- Able to use a computer including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Physical Requirements:
- Will required extended standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting.
- Ability to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, pull objects, materials, controls, and tools.
- Must have good visual acuity and depth perception.
- Must be able to work outside in the changing weather conditions including in the heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind.
- Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves, and leather work boots.
