USA Environmental, Inc., (USAE), headquartered in Oldsmar, Florida, provides Munitions and Explosives of Concern (MEC) characterization and remediation services. USAE is currently seeking a Project Geophysicist. This individual will work together with technical experts and project managers on Military Munitions Response Programs (MMRP) investigation and remediation projects. They will assist with the development of geophysical technical approaches, data collection, processing, and interpretation of Digital Geophysical Mapping (DGM) and Advanced Geophysical Classification (AGC) data to include advanced Electromagnetic Induction (EMI). The Project Geophysicist will become authorized under the USAE DAGCAP accreditation and may function as either the data analyst, project geophysicist, or QC Geophysicist role depending on experience and existing project needs. They will organize and manage various field teams performing geophysical functions in diverse locations worldwide.
Qualified candidates will possess a B.S. degree in Geology, Geophysics or a related engineering field with a minimum of 5 years of field experience applying geophysical tools and techniques required (including acquiring geophysical data, downloading, processing the acquired data, and delivering raw, preprocessed and final data). Experience collecting data with AGC and DGM geophysical sensors and positioning systems required, to include Geonics EM61-MK2, Geometrics G-858 Metal Mapper 2x2, and APEX One-Pass, Trimble RTK DGPS and Stencil SLAM; advanced proficiency in AGC and DGM data processing using Geosoft Oasis Montaj (UXO-Land and UX-Analyze); advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
This individual must be capable of deploying sensors in all weather and terrain conditions (carrying a 40-pound backpack for extended periods of time). Ability to work in a team environment, including direct customer interaction to ensure project goals and objectives are being met or exceeded. Experience with unexploded ordnance projects strongly desired and individual must be willing to travel up to 30% of the time. When not in the field, they can work in either the Corporate Office or remotely from their home.
