Responsibilities
This is routine work in receiving, disbursing, and depositing cash, and maintaining accounting records. An employee in a position allocated to this classification is responsible for the receipt, custody, and recording of large amounts of cash; duties may include preparing cash reports and receipts, and verifying daily balances; work is performed under the general supervision of a higher level administrative employee and is reviewed while in progress and through records and reports; receives incoming cash and checks; counts money to verify amounts; issues change; issues checks; prepares receipts; may compile collection, disbursement, and bank reconciliation reports; may operate machines such as typewriters, check writing machines, adding machines, and electronic cash registers; answers routine correspondence pertaining to money collected; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; performs related duties as required.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Specified positions may require the possession and maintenance of a food handler’s permit.
