Role Overview: The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) has shared ownership with the Functional Delivery Lead for both business strategy and business value results. The BRM owns stakeholder relationships and serves as a single point of focus, working to converge functions such as IT, HR, finance, GBS, quality, etc. and one or more lines of business or value streams. This is achieved by stimulating, surfacing, and shaping demand for capabilities and assets, in addition to ensuring that the potential business value from those capabilities and assets are captured, optimized, and recognized. Through effective relationship management capabilities, the BRM contributes to the business leadership team by actively partnering with business peers to determine strategic direction. They work to identify ways in which the BRM’s function can support and advance business objectives. Additionally, the BRM shapes business demand into supply by 1) partnering with appropriate resources to facilitate the creation of idea documents, business cases, and value plans; 2) ensuring value optimization and communication; and 3) enabling continuous improvement in all areas and people around them. Responsibilities: Partner & Relationship Management (35%) Leveraging the business framework, ensure customers’ current and future needs are met, providing solutions for the desired business outcomes and setting/meeting realistic timelines. Ensure conflicting stakeholder requirements are mediated appropriately, handling stakeholders’ complaints and escalations well through a sympathetic (yet formal) process. Onboard new leaders, by showing them how we work, what analytics are available, and helping them gain access to and understanding of the analytics. Develop mutual trust by meeting regularly with functional leadership to ensure needs are being met, provide updates on current work, and capture/log future demand. Analytics Community Engagement and Governance (35%) Actively engage, contribute, and be the go-to analytics community leader for your vertical. Stay active in the community to ensure that what individuals in the community are developing compliments, rather than overlaps with other efforts across the business. Train and help ensure that data sources being used are approved and being used correctly to keep alignment across all analytics. Business Architecture & Platforms (30%) Shape demand from the business to fit into the framework developed by the Analytics Steering Co and work cross functionally with business analysts, engineers, and the IT data team to develop new and improve existing dashboards and technology using the tools available. Oversee the governance, maintenance, change and release management services for the solutions in your business domain. Location: Memphis, TN Education: Bachelor's Degree in computer science or relevant field Licenses/ Certifications: Business Relationship Management Professional (BRMP®) preferred, Certified Business Relationship Manager (CBRM®) preferred and/or Master of Business Relationship Management (MBRM®) preferred Experience: 5 years of functional experience in a Manufacturing business function 2 years of experience facilitating the development and implementation of business initiatives and projects, based on management objectives Manufacturing process and traditional KPIs Scrum/Agile development methodologies and project management Experience with Power BI capability, functionality, and design Alteryx Experience (Core or above Certification preferred) Interacting and presenting to senior leadership Thinking strategically and persuading and implementing said strategy IT lifecycle principles Competences: Relationship-building Ability to listen, build rapport, and credibility as a strategic partner vertically within the business unit, as well as with leadership and functional teams Strategic thinker Ability to map joint organizational vision and long-term thinking, imagination, and idea generation Energy, focus, assertiveness, and diplomacy Highly developed communication skills Highly skilled and experienced at negotiating conflict and problem-solving to achieve win-win outcomes at executive levels Exceptional ability to lead change using positive and collaborative methods Leadership Set the standard for business management Leading by example, mentoring, and motivating others all around you Ability to set expectations with business partners and effectively leverage governance for a positive business partner experience Ability to influence and break down silos within an organization as well across organizations Ability to focus on business value results, rather than solutions Technical aptitude, requirements management, and the ability to assess and articulate risk variables Must have and maintain credibility with the business community Must demonstrate acumen in business and function disciplines Understand and integrate business strategies and trends in technology to deliver value Be able to influence others, using personal rather than positional power Strong communication skills in writing, speaking, and presenting An outside-in focus Ability to take feedback and make something postive out of it Continually striving to improve Be able to identify gaps and areas that need improvement Strong humility, listening, creativity, and negotiation skills Accept ownership Physical Demands: Must be able to left 20 pounds.
