Linux Systems Administrator
USAN is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented Linux Systems Administrator eager to use and expand their technologic skills in support of our dynamic and growing production support group. In this role, the successful individual will be part of our team that is responsible for supporting and monitoring USAN internal and external (customer) infrastructure. Our ideal candidate will be passionate about identifying and collaborating with other teams to develop automation.
Responsibilities
- Proactively maintain all production Linux infrastructure (troubleshooting, monitoring system performance and capacity planning).
- Collaborate with other teams and team members to identify and develop automation.
- Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security and efficiency of each platform.
- Create system administration related solutions for operation and project needs.
- Fault finding, analysis and of logging of information.
- Manage and implement software upgrades on Linux based hardware and VM’s.
- Monitor and maintain all Linux server backups, as well as maintain best practices on managing systems and services for all platforms.
- Participate in USAN’s on-call rotation for after-hours support.
Qualifications
- 2 years professional working experience as a Linux systems administrator.
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree in an IT related field, or relevant work experience.
- Linux Certifications (RHCT, RHCE and LPIC) a plus.
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Hyper-V or VMWare ESX.
- Proficient at creating/modifying bash shell scripts.
- Hands on experience with Apache.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, Layer 2 Switching and OSI Model) a plus.
- Experience with DNS implementation and support; AWS Route53 experience a plus.
- Knowledge of Active Directory or other IDP a plus.
- Working knowledge of digital workflow products (ServiceNow) and cloud based analytic tools (Sumo Logic) a plus.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts and familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS/Google/Azure) a plus.
- Some working knowledge of Cloud based environments, such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
