LOCATION: SACRAMENTO, CA
HOURLY PAYRATE: $15 or $16 per hour
OVERVIEW
The Housekeeper has the primary responsibility for cleaning the facility in such a way to promote health and safety. It is the role of the housekeeper to follow daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules including, but not limited to, the classrooms, kitchen, office areas, bathrooms, storage areas and entrances. The housekeeper reports to the Lead Housekeeping and Maintenance Worker.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform general organization and housekeeping duties including but not limited to: sweeping, scrubbing, moping and polishing floors; vacuuming carpets, rugs and draperies; shampooing carpets, rugs and upholstery; cleaning metal fixtures and fittings; emptying and cleaning trash containers and disposing of trash in a sanitary manner; cleaning wash basins, mirrors, surfaces, tubs and showers; making up beds and changes linens as required;
- Disinfect equipment and supplies using germicide;
- Respond to staff/guest queries and requests including calls for housekeeping problems such as spills;
- Meet with lead housekeeping and maintenance worker regularly to discuss improvements, equipment and supplies and scheduling;
- Monitor and maintain an inventory of supplies and replenish them as needed;
- Report damage of items and equipment and inform supervisor of needed supplies, repairs and replacement;
- Report to the lead housekeeping and maintenance worker the presence of vermin or insects, maintenance needs, and other health and safety hazards;
- Participate in environmental safety activities as needed;
- Exhibit professionalism with visitors, fellow associates and others; and
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 6 months of experience in the custodial field;
- Knowledge of proper cleaning methods is required;
- Must pass a criminal background, child abuse and neglect registry clearance and other screening requirements including health assessment, Tuberculosis test and drug test;
- Flexibility and willingness to work irregular and long hours including evenings and weekends as the position requires on call rotation with staff;
- Demonstrated support of USCRI’s values by exhibiting respect for others, maintenance of confidential information and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity;
- Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands;
- Continuous and/or long periods of lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, pulling, stooping, squatting, pushing, climbing and carrying;
- Ability to read and write in English;
- Basic arithmetic, reading and writing skills; and
- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids or tissues;

Salary : $30,000 - $34,000
