We have an exciting opportunity to join us in supporting one of our valued customers as a Systems Engineer 3 to join our Global Command and Control System Air Force (GCCS-AF) Team) at Hanscom AFB. In this role, this engineer will assist the HBGW government program office team, working in conjunction with government engineers and program managers, as well as other support contractor engineers and program managers, with the below described responsibilities.
Essential Duties:
- Assist EPASS and Government lead engineers with technical program execution to include IT consultancy, capstone documentation, technical presentations, COT/GOTS analysis, and technical oversight. Introduce new technologies that could result in efficiency and process improvements across the organization.
- Assist in the conduct of reviews of the GCCS-AF program to evaluate and/or recommend alternative plans, improve IT and/or systems engineering programs/processes, manage/sustain program technical baseline, and design/perform system level tests to assure that subsystems and system performance is achieved in accordance with approved specifications
- Assist project engineer lead and government release manager through baseline process milestones to include Configuration Control Board, Test Readiness Review and Field Readiness Reviews.
- Prepare technical documents which define, specify, and recommend system/subsystem characteristics of the GCCS-AF weapons system. If called upon, prepare management reports and conducts technical presentations for planning, implementation and corrective action using application of engineering economy principles
- Provide IT system/program engineering, technical support and technical training to support programs/initiatives, including but not limited to: acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, continued evolution, deployment/fielding and installation, and operations oversight.
- Provide engineering support to conduct formal trade studies based on engineering performance, effectiveness, cost effectiveness, cost performance, life cycle cost, producibility, reliability, maintainability, risk, and schedule.
- Provide expertise in the range of Microsoft Windows applications in use over the past 15 years, and provide recommendations regarding the technical feasibility, compatibility, and cost effectiveness of implementation of specific Windows versions.
- Provide concepts and requirements analyses support services including, but not limited to, reviewing and analyzing:

- Concepts of Operation (CONOPs),
- Technology Development Strategies
- Functional and Configuration Audits
- Life Cycle Support Plan
- Configuration Management Plan

- Review and analyze system concepts and user requirements that have been approved and entered into a system requirements baseline (functional, allocated, and product)
- General knowledge of the networking Open System Interconnection (OSI) model layers
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in IT or Engineering preferred, and 15 years of experience in systems engineering; or 15-20 years of experience in a hands-on IT/engineering environment, at least 10 years of which must be in support of Dept of Defense systems and/or operational activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows versions up through Windows 10
- Familiar with Linux/Red Hat operating systems and Dell servers
- Prefer expertise in routers, switches, firewalls, VMware and Red Hat
- Progressive experience in IT/engineering development projects, to include IT/engineering documentation, engineering changes and notices, and planning/conducting design audits
