What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Hire position at USG?
The USG East Chicago location is looking for temporary operators for the summer. There may be an opportunity for candidates to start earlier based on availability. Candidates will be compensated $23.76/hour. No additional benefits will be provided with these temporary positions. The position offers many challenges to those that wish to exceed their limits in an environment that seeks continuous improvement and innovation. You will report to the department supervisor and your principal functions are:
Roles & Responsibilities:
· Assist with special projects.
· Fill in for production operators’ vacations.
· Work in the warehouse.
· Perform general housekeeping duties.
· All other related tasks and projects.
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Must be a minimum of 18 years of age and successfully complete USG’s pre-employment screening requirements.
· Must be attending college or enrolled for the Fall 2024 semester.
· Willing and able to work in a manufacturing setting in a safe manner and follow all plant safety rules and practices.
· Results oriented and can demonstrate strong teamwork abilities.
· Good communication skills needed with all co-workers.
· Maintain a high standard for housekeeping within the work area.
· Candidates demonstrating above average safety performance, work performance and meeting all attendance requirements may be considered for future full-time positions at the East Chicago plant.
Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
