What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Records Analyst position at USPI?

 

  • Prioritizing, locating, retrieving, assembling, scanning, analyzing and electronically tracking health information using the facilities EHR according to current policies and procedures.
  • Assisting with Release of Information duties according to current policies and procedures.
  • Maintains Health Information in a manner compliant with established ethic
  • Manages the Joint Commission EHR survey process, EHR Medicare survey process, and monitors hospital-wide adherence to all requirements.
  • Directs activity to ensure a coordinated effort to fulfil responsibilities within the long-range plan, mission, vision, and values of the hospital.
  • Implements and evaluates appropriate programs as requested by Senior Management.
  • Maintains records and collects statistical data for administrative decision-making and regulatory purposes.
  • Assist in workflow development
  • Assist in system customization
  • Submit and manage support tickets to Director and/or AMS customer support as needed
  • Implement policies, procedures and associated training plans for the EHR
  • Provide training on proper use of EHR
  • Support go-live events, per director
  • Troubleshoot identified problems
  • Identify, document and track issues, escalating as appropriate for timely resolution

 


Required Skills:
  • Must understand confidential nature of hospital work
  • Ability to utilize Electronic Healthcare Records for patient documentation
  • Demonstrates knowledge through compliance with all hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Demonstrates good conduct by positive interaction with hospital employees and physicians.
  • Demonstrates good organizational skills in the preparation of daily work assignment
  • Fosters timely and effective communications with physicians that promote enhanced services and problem resolution.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws Ensure completion of the medical record in collaboration with the physician/provider.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of information in accordance with governing HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.
  • Responsible for performing medical staff duties that require discretion and independent judgment Interface with customers, physicians, staff, patients, vendors and administrators appropriately
  • Organizing and maintaining filing systems of paper and electronic documents
  • Assists in EHR workflow development and system customization
