**Schedule (hours may vary depending on needs) **
- 4 hours day
- 7AM to 11AM or 2:30PM to 6:30PM

The Pharmacist is responsible for daily operations, personnel management and regulatory compliance of pharmacy services for Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital at Fort Worth and Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Outpatient Center, when on duty without the Director being present.

This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors.

The Pharmacist communicates the needs of the department to The Director of the Department and collaborates with medical staff regarding prescriptive issues and therapy recommendations.

The Pharmacist supports management team in meeting facility goals.

Required Skills:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy, required.
- PharmD, preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
- Current Texas Registered Pharmacist (RPh) license
- Current BLS required, ACLS and PALS preferred.
- IV Certification required or acquired within 90 days of hire.

Required Experience:
Specific Job Experience:
- Minimum five (5) years hospital pharmacy experience
- Minimum two (2) years' experience in a supervisor capacity
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrate competent administrative, leadership and management, demonstrating knowledge of the development needs of pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides prescribed medications, drugs and other pharmaceuticals as needed for adequate patient care according to professional standards and practices.
- Provides appropriate pharmaceutical care to patients both in the outpatient clinic as well as the main facility; may include patient medication counseling prior to admission or discharge.
- Maintains continuing education to provide evidence based pharmaceutical care for all patients, including pharmacokinetic and pharmacotherapy services.
- Initiates and/or participates in department process improvement as determined by the Director of Pharmacy
- Has a working knowledge of department processes in order to facilitate technical and clinical problem resolution.
- Oversees tasks of pharmacy technicians on a daily basis
- Creates and maintains good working relationships with staff and vendors at the main facility as well as the outpatient facility.
- Provides on call pharmacy services as determined by the Director of Pharmacy
- Manages and completes other duties as assigned.
