What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pre Op/PACU Registered Nurse PRN position at USPI?
Provides direct patient care in the Pre and Post-operative areas in a fast-paced endoscopy center. Performs all nursing duties within the department interacting professionally with physicians, anesthesia staff, patients, families, and other team members. This position requires strong organizational skills and a high degree of accuracy. May have additional responsibilities as designated by the Nurse Manager, Clinical Director and/or Administrator, which include, but are not limited to, serving on committees, participating in quality improvement audits, and projects.
Required Skills:
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Current Missouri Nursing License
- Current BLS
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff, and physicians.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, openness, receptive to change, creativity and innovative.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to adapt to change quickly, strong knowledge base relative to GI procedures
- Ability to care for patients from adult to geriatrics
- Excellent teaching skills
- Basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology
- Will be required to work pre-op, post-op
Required Experience:
Experience/or Education: Associate or Bachelors Degree in Nursing. Shall have two years related experience and /or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Shall have demonstrated computer skills. ASC experience a plus.
