What are the responsibilities and job description for the PSU PCT / Telemetry Tech (day shift) position at USPI?

We perform over 7,000 procedures and have 9 operating suites with 21 inpatient rooms, and an emergency department open 24/7 with an ED physician on-site.
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Trophy Club is seeking a PCT / Telemetry Tech to join our family.
This position will consist of clinical and non-clinical responsibilities. The PCT / Telemetry Tech will report primarily to PSU, but will be available for cross-training anywhere inside Baylor Scott & White Medical Center at Trophy Club and will be assigned to other departments, upon approval of director. At the discretion of and under the direction of the nursing staff, the PCT / Telemetry Tech clinical duties will include assisting in all phases of routine patient care, obtaining and documenting vital signs, collection of lab specimens, ambulating patients, responding to patient requests, cleaning/prepping rooms including stretchers and equipment, stocking supplies and patient refreshments, assist with patient flow, escorting discharged patients out of the facility and accompanying patient as necessary. The PCT / Telemetry Tech will not perform any duties requiring licensure and/or certification beyond the scope of a patient care technician. The PCT / Telemetry Tech non clinical duties will include secretarial/administrative duties at the nursing desk, answering telephones, answering call lights, assists entering information into computer systems, making copes and faxing documents, and entering charges into EHR. The clinical and non-clinical lists of duties are understood to be ongoing and will be amended and as additional responsibilities are added.
Required Skills:
Education
- High school graduate (minimum)
- Prefer some college or graduate of technical school medical assistant program
Licensure/Certification
- BLS upon hire, or acquire within 30 days
Specific Job Experience
- Prefer one (1) year minimum in any of the following areas: hospital, high volume clinic, private physician’s office or nursing home.
