What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN PACU position at USPI?
USPI Platinum Surgery Center is seeking a motivated RN PACU to join our team. We have 6 OR rooms and 1 Treatment room. We perform outpatient surgical procedures in General, Gastro, Anesthesiology, ENT, Pedi Dentistry, Ophthalmology, Oral, OB/GYN. We are looking for a candidate to be available Monday-Friday, schedule subject to changed based on surgical schedule and flow of day. Candidate needs to be available for some early mornings and later evenings.
Position requires weekdays only -- no holidays, weekends, or call. Some later evenings required.
Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Pre-Op/PACU manager, the PACU nurse is responsible for implementing all physician orders, providing for the continuity and quality of nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times.
Responsible for providing total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation.
Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

Required Skills:
Qualifications:
- Must be a Registered Nurse with an unrestricted license in the state
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- 1-3 years' previous experience in PreOP/PACU preferred
- Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center strongly preferred
- Must have current BLS, ALS and PALS
- Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
- Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
