USPI Harvard Park Surgery Center is seeking a motivated Sterile Processing Tech join our team. Harvard Park Surgery Center is a fast paced, multi-specialty ASC environment committed to producing the highest quality work and experience for patients and their families. The facility consists of 4 OR’s and 2 procedure rooms. Our specialties include Orthopedics and Pain Management.
Work Schedule: M-F, alternating shifts between morning, mid and late shifts.
Job Summary: Responsible for cleaning and sterilizing all items pertinent to the operations of the center.
Job Title: Instrument Technician
Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Materials Manager
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Coordinates and implements AMI standards and any other resources (IFU’s, SDSs, policies) for the sterilization of instruments and supplies.
- Can explain/give rationale/ for current practices.
- Can work independently and uses time wisely.
- Demonstrates good body mechanics.
- Speaks up to address practice issues.
- Coordinates the availability of instruments/supplies for cases as needed.
- Assures the adequate functioning and cleaning of all autoclaves and other sterilization/cleaning equipment.
- Maintains adequate supplies without waste that are needed for sterilization process.
- Maintains complete and accurate documentation.
- Facilitates turnover times to promote operating room efficiency.
- Uses Standard Universal Precautions, appropriate hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, and safe practices to ensure personal safety and a safe environment.
- Assists with environmental hazard and infection control surveillance, and participates in emergency preparedness drills.
- Follows all equipment and safety guidelines, and is personally responsible for knowledgeable use and care of equipment.
- Interacts appropriately and effectively with all patients/others regardless of age or ethnic background.
- Serves as a resource to other members of the health care team.
- Attends in-service training, required education, conferences, and meetings to learn new skills as required.
- Communicates effectively and courteously with visitors, physicians, and their office staffs, patients, and employees. Maintains patient, physician, and employee privacy and confidentiality per policy.
- Maintains designated certifications such as CPR, as offered by the center.
- Acts in accordance with the vision, mission, and business philosophy of the Center.
- Complies with Policies and Procedures, and adheres to safety guidelines to ensure a safe work and patient care environment.
Salary Range - $21 - $27

Required Skills:
Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma/GED; completion of a Sterile Process Certification Program is preferred. One to two years experience as an Instrument Technician in multiple specialties or equivalent combination of education and experience.
