The USS Midway School Field Trip program has a great opportunity for experienced teachers looking to use their skills in an informal, fun, teaching environment. JOB DETAILS:

• Hourly Pay Rate: $18/hr
• Traditional school schedule: weekdays Monday – Friday, through the months SEP – JUN
• Work shift hours are 8:30am – 1:30pm
• 15-20 – hours per week
• Three (3) days per week required availability. Days vary based on department need.
• Provide educational instruction to school groups of all ages while on the USS Midway Museum
• Provide educational instruction to school groups of all ages using video conference software to conduct virtual visits from the USS Midway Museum.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS/ABILITIES:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• One year of classroom teaching experience.
• Classroom and Virtual Classroom management skills.
• Ability to explain technical, historical, and scientific information in an entertaining fashion.
• Enjoy working with elementary, middle, and high school students.
• Familiarity with the technology involved in operating video conferencing software platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google meets etc.
• Spanish as a second language is a plus.
• Candidates must be able to climb up and down stairs and crew ladders, perform light cleaning duties, and lift up to 20 lbs.
• Pass Live Scan Background check.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Job Conditions/Work Location: Work is performed onboard an aircraft carrier.
Physical Requirements: Frequent climbing up/down stairs and crew ladders; ability to bend and stoop to lift, move and/or retrieve objects, artifacts, and teaching materials; pull, push, lift, and carry up to 20 lbs.; reach both above and below shoulder height.
