The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Cell Biology, is seeking applicants for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor level to work in the laboratory of Dr. Mike Henne.  Applicants must have a Ph.D. or M.D./PhD degree, or equivalent, from an approved medical school, graduate school, and have satisfactorily completed post-doctoral research training. 

 

Candidates will be expected to assist in the leadership of an established basic science laboratory in the field of lipid metabolism with a focus on dissecting how lipid stores and created and organized in adipose tissues. The applicant will assist in the development of a robust research program that includes publications of peer-reviewed manuscripts, presentations at national and international meetings, and assist the PI to maintain a track record of sustained extramural grant funding. The expectation is that the applicant will have extensive experience in the field of lipid metabolism, fly genetics, and confocal microscopy. 

 

Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.

 

This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
