The Sabari Lab has an opening for a Research Scientist. The Sabari lab investigates how biomolecular condensates impact gene regulation in normal development and disease. We investigate basic mechanisms of transcription and how those mechanisms are implicated in physiology and disease. Our techniques range from protein biochemistry to functional studies in primary cell culture. We are a relatively new lab with 6 group members. An important aspect of the lab operation is that everyone works together as a team with a flat hierarchy. Applicant must be willing to learn from and teach trainees and staff at all levels.
The position involves both maintaining lab organization and assisting ongoing lab projects. The lab organization aspect of the job requires exceptional organization skills, strong communication, and attention to detail. Roles on lab projects will require basic molecular biology and cell culture techniques including molecular cloning, cell line engineering, western blotting, and RT-qPCR. Applicant must be able to work with teams of scientists, be excited about learning new techniques and exploring interesting scientific questions while also managing the day-to-day of lab operations.
