Assessor The Utah County Assessor's office is responsible for classifying all property in the county; in cooperation with the Recorder's office, associate ownership with the property; establishing a taxable value for all property subject to property taxation; and compiling this information into reports that are utilized by the Auditor's office to calculate tax rates and the Treasurer's office for collections. Attorney The County Attorney's Office protects Utah County by vigorously prosecuting and investigating crime, compassionately assisting crime victims, and by providing the highest quality legal representation to Utah County Government. Clerk/Auditor The County Auditor investigates all financial claims against the county and pays the bills. The Clerk Auditors Office examines the financial bonds kept by the other county officials to see that accurate and complete records are maintained. Conducts all elections in Utah county pertaining to county, state or national offices, and marriage licenses and passports are processed in the Clerk/Auditor Office. Recorder The County Recorder keeps the official records of the county, recording mortgages, deeds, and other documents involving property. The Recorder also maintains up-to-date maps which show current ownership of every section of land. Sheriff The County Sheriff is the law enforcement officer in the county and is responsible for the preservation of the peace. The Sheriff and deputies make arrests and prepare legal papers for Sheriff's sale. The Sheriff also oversees the County Jail. Surveyor The County Surveyor Office identifies and protects the section corner monuments that define record title (real property) interests. The Surveyor Office acts as a depository for all records of survey and is responsible for performing survey work for Utah County. Health The Utah County Health Department seeks to prevent avoidable disease and injury, and promote health by monitoring the health of the community, and assuring conditions in which people can be healthy. Information Systems The Information Systems department provides technology support to all Utah County government agencies. This support includes acquisition, deployment and management of computer-based workstations, software applications, local and wide-area network infrastructure, security, and information use policy. Children's Justice Center The Children's Justice Center is a homelike facility which serves children and families who are experiencing the crisis and chaos that comes with the disclosure of significant physical or sexual abuse of a child. Starting Pay: $22.25 - $25.58 Hourly Schedule: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday Job Qualifications: 1. Associate degree or higher. 2. One (1) year of work experience related to real estate, building construction, or property appraisal. 3. A bachelor's degree in a field related to real estate, building construction, or property appraisal may be accepted in lieu of the required work experience. Preferred Candidates will possess some of the below attributes: 1. Bachelor's degree related to real estate, building construction, or property appraisal. Additional Eligibility Qualifications: 1. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and obtain a valid State of Utah driver's license within sixty (60) days of employment. 2. Selected applicants will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and background check. 3. Incumbents must obtain an Appraiser Trainee designation with the Utah State Department of Commerce within twelve (12) months in the position. 4. Incumbents must obtain a Licensed Appraiser designation with the Utah State Department of Commerce within thirty-six (36) months in the position. 5. Incumbents must obtain an Ad Valorem Appraiser designation with the Utah State Tax Commission within thirty-six (36) months in the position.
