What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part Time Care About Childcare Trainer/Support position at Utah State University?

Overview

Candidate will be responsible for conducting/instructing in-person classes using Care About Childcare curriculum at the Moab Utah State University. Candidate will teach at minimum 1 class per quarter and as many as 1 class per month. Course hours range from 2.5 hours to 10 hours per course.

Responsibilities

Using provided curriculum, prepare and present professional development courses to child care professionals. Complete required paperwork included with each course and return with training materials within 2 days of final session of class. Become familiar with and encourage child care professionals to participate in the Utah Professional Development Program, as well as ,other growth opportunities available to them. Participate in annual conference implementation, attend and possibly present at conference. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, or a current CDA.
  • Two years paid professional experience working directly with children.
  • A minimum of six months' experience of direct responsibility for professional development of adults and demonstrated knowledge of adult learning and training.
  • Effective written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.

    Advertised Salary

    Commensurate on education and experience up to $29.16 an hour

    Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes.  The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
