We are looking for a self-motivated, innovative, naturally curious person interested in solving complex health care issues in new and innovative ways. This individual must utilize expertise to query, design and translate complex data analysis into simple, user-friendly mediums that are easily digestible by health system executives and front-line clinicians. The ideal person for this role will have healthcare knowledge or be willing to learn healthcare terminology. Must be comfortable working on a team and have strong communication and presentation skills. The Data Engineer will have direct reporting responsibility to the Data Science Team Lead within the University of Utah Health Medical Group Analytics Team.As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for using APIs to integrate with the EPICElectronic Medical Record (EMR) system to build applications. In addition tothis, you will also be extracting data from third-party systems for use inanalytics. In this role, you will be expected to have strong programmingskills, particularly in languages such as Python or Java, and have experienceworking with APIs. The ability to work with large datasets and experience withdata modeling and SQL is also highly desired. Overall, this role will involveusing your technical skills to bridge the gap between data sources andanalytics, and will be critical to the success of the data analytics effortswithin the organization.
Salary : $88,000 - $101,649
