POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
To manage and direct EHS activities, provide resource expertise to local and/or regional operations, ensures compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations, keeping abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Will be involved in the design, development, coaching, training, and administration of environmental, health, and safety systems and programs. This person will also serve as the contact with federal, state, and regulatory bodies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure that Company safety procedures are followed and that environmental and health safety standards are met by conducting frequent audits and ensuring all personnel is trained to the standards identified. Perform duties in a safe manner; act as a role model for all employees.
- Work throughout the company to recognize and anticipate potential problems and hazards in regard to EHS within operational processes.
- Maintain, review and update EHS programs by enacting and revising procedures as prescribed in our Safety Manual.
- Maintains accurate and complete Environmental, Health and Safety records in accordance with governing regulations and company policies.
- Assist with case management of Workers Compensation cases. Work closely with insurance providers and adjusters to ensure a timely and safe return to work for injured employees.
- Conduct incident investigations including “root cause analysis” for corrective action.
- Train management personnel on incident investigations and proper documentation.
- Review all facilities for local, state, and federal regulatory compliance including EPA, OSHA, TCEQ, and any other applicable current legal requirements.
- Conduct periodic HSE training, meetings, document attendance, and provide results and status to management.
- Coordinate processes for waste management, SPCCs, Tier IIs, and any other current processes.
- Coordinate Emergency Response for all facilities.
- Provide status to management in the form of monthly reports for training, EHS assessments, and other leading indicators. Provide constructive input to management decisions and actively support those decisions.
Additional Responsibilities:
- New employee training: assure the orientation program has necessary EHS training plans, facilitate the training and assure it is documented.
- Perform other related duties assigned.

- Follow company safety procedures at all times
- Demonstrated learning ability through continuing education courses to stay up-to-date on all policies.
Required Education and Experience:
- Minimum two-year degree in Occupational Health & Safety
- Educated in local, state, and federal regulatory standards
- Minimum 3yrs experience in EHS leadership position
Work Environment
This job operates in an office and manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses tools and other such equipment during the course of the job duties. Provided Personal Protective Equipment, as well as steel-toed boots or shoes, must be worn at all times.

- Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; and stoop
- Regular, predictable attendance is required

Some limited travel will be required. Up to 20%.
