Position Summary:

Functions as a member of the Coordinated Operational and Clinical Help (COACH) team and assists with all aspects of clinical performance projects.


Position Key Accountabilities:

1. Serves as a secondary clinical nursing contact for COACH projects. Assists with planning, consulting, executing and reporting of continuous improvement projects that align with the organization’s performance goals related to clinical operations.
2. Assists with coordinating and performing assessments of the business via observation, data analytics, metric trends, financials, best practice measures, policies and procedures, and regulatory guidelines to identify performance improvement opportunities.
3. Assists the Project Manager by utilizing data analysis, best practice techniques and methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, to support the organization’s decision-making processes.
4. Assists in the coordination, synthesis and documentation of findings and makes recommendations. Translates key messages into presentations to assist leadership in developing and implementing solutions.
5. Assists in the coordination and technical evaluation, clinical identification and definition of issues that need to be corrected or improved for clinical compliance, efficiency, staff and patient satisfaction within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and practice management systems and other software integrated systems.
6. Assists Project Manager in identifying the key stakeholders to assure readiness for efficient and effective team engagement and preparedness for the transition management process; including identification and engagement of the long-term process owner, communication with affected areas, availability of data, and representation from process owners and leadership.
7. Identifies needs and coordinates and develops policies, procedures, standing orders and protocols.
8. Responsible for coordinating and providing in-person, electronic and video training sessions along with quick reference guides, when applicable, to employees in the areas of patient care including: dashboard utilization, EMR data-entry best practices, data mining, clinical process flows, and monitoring of key performance indicators.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

Current registered nursing licensure in the State of Texas. Working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma methodologies; with certification preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office.


Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing school.

Minimum Experience:

3 years relevant work experience in a healthcare setting, with at least one year of leadership experience and managing performance improvement projects preferred.


Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
