Position Summary:
Project HOMES is looking to hire casual employees to join the UTHealth School of Public Health. At Project HOMES, we believe people who take medication for their recovery deserve to craft a recovery journey that works best for them. We partner with recovery homes in Texas to support fully-funded communities of people working together to build their paths to recovery.
The candidates in this position will serve as a casual employee. This can be a hybrid, in-person, or remote position. The candidate is expected to work 20 hours per week.
Position Key Accountabilities:
- Plans and implements research activities according to research protocol. Research activities may include some or all of the following: patient recruiting and screening, scheduling and conducting interview and field observations and data entry.
- Makes independent decisions as required, which may impact research team or assigned project
- Maintains accurate and timely records which may include field notes, records, databases, etc. as needed by the research project.
- As needed, may coordinate the interviews and other researchers to ensure efficient, timely and high-quality data collection.
- Stays abreast of new and updated protocols for research department. Participates in continuing education programs, seminars, and workshops, and research team meetings.
- Must be comfortable conducting outreach and working in the community setting.
- May provide updates to P.I. regarding research progress.
- Complies with all governmental and University policies, rules, regulation and codes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
Trained by project manager or principal on techniques to interview, complete questionnaires, and operate equipment. May need to be bilingual.
Preferred:
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to travel to various locations throughout Harris County is expected.
- Have a driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Reliable, well-organized, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Minimum Education:
High School diploma
Preferred:
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred but not required.
Minimum Experience:
Two years related experience with emphasis on public contact.
May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

This job class may contain positions that are security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Texas Education Code § 51.215
Residency Requirement:
Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
Salary : $41,400 - $52,400
