What are the responsibilities and job description for the Title I position at Utica Community School District?
Qualifications:
- Two years of college, an associate's degree, or have passed the Basic Skills Test for teacher certification (MTTC), or the WorkKeys Assessment Test.
- Demonstrated understanding of student needs along with the ability and diresire to work with At-Risk students.
- Ability to assist student(s) with multiple challenges in the classroom/school environment.
- Deliver small group instruction to At-Risk K-6 learners, under the direction of the classroom teacher.
- Ability to follow through with literacy and/or math intervention support.
- Ability to maintain composure and communication during stressful situations.
- Must possess high level of communication skils (reading, writing, speaking).
- Maintain anecdotal records.
- Foster positive student relationships. Some charting/logging, and parent interaction may be required.
- Characteristics sought include: Child-centered, adaptability, calm demeanor, respect for dignity, patience, confidentiality, and ability to alertly focus during times of potential distraction.
- Englis language proficiency is a must.
Description
- 5 hours per day - 9:20 am - 3:20 pm with a one hour lunch.
- Location may change and/or hours may increase or decrease due to student and/or program needs.
