Utilities One is looking for a Drilling Crew for Cpeur D'alee.
Horizontal/Directional Drilling crews are doing horizontal/directional drill rigs, locating equipment, and product support equipment. Perform semi-skilled activities related to HDD locating along with familiarity with industry standards, policies, guidelines, and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Operates Horizontal Directional Drill Locator for installation of underground telecommunications cable conduit, including fiber optic cable;
- Confirm bore path with install foreman and drill operator (including walking the bore path);
- Perform job site analysis (JSA) including completion of paperwork;
- Ensure there are proper clearances to install the product per standards;
- Ensure the drill head is in a good position at the exit pit to connect the product;
- Locate utilities with locating systems;
- Hand dig using a shovel, mechanical tools;
- Ensures safety of the public and other utilities underground facilities;
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned in order to help the team complete a project.
Requirements
- A valid and unrestricted Class A/B CDL;
- Knowledge and experience with construction and general industry safety standards and procedures;
- Must have proven experience in heavy construction equipment operations with emphasis on drilling and boring machines operations;
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and drive or ride in a vehicle for long periods of time;
- Work up to 5 days per week in an all-weather environment and be willing to travel as required.
